Both psychologists and accredited mental health social workers can provide counselling and work with clients using a Mental Health Care Plan. As a social worker, I’ve completed a four-year university degree covering things like psychology, counselling approaches, ethics, social policy, law, and research, along with 900 hours of supervised practice before graduation. I have also completed a Master of Social Work (Advanced Practice). Being an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker means I can provide the same counselling services under Medicare as a psychologist or mental health–accredited occupational therapist. I also keep my skills up to date through ongoing professional development, just like other mental health professionals. In short: we all provide support for mental health, as a social worker, my focus is on your overall wellbeing, relationships, and navigating life’s challenges, alongside emotional support. You don’t need a referral to book an appointment. However, if you’d like to access Medicare rebates, you’ll need a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates. Please email your plan (or ask your GP to send it) to admin@cassandrafletchercounselling.com.au (mailto:admin@cassandrafletchercounselling.com.au) Payment is required upfront, and rebates are processed after your session.

Yes. I offer secure Telehealth appointments via video. If you book a Telehealth session, you’ll receive a secure video link by email before your appointment.

Once your booking is confirmed: • You’ll receive an email confirmation • A reminder will be sent before your session • For Telehealth, your secure video link will be emailed to you • I’ll review your information ahead of time so our session is focused and supportive from the outset

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so as early as possible via the booking system or by contacting the practice directly. This allows the appointment to be offered to another client.

Yes. I use Novopsych, a trusted Australian psychological assessment and outcomes platform, which includes AI-supported tools. Novopsych is used to help: • Administer and score standardised assessments • Track progress and outcomes over time • Support clinical decision-making with evidence-based insights Any AI-supported features are used as a clinical aid only and do not replace professional judgement, therapy, or human care. Your information is handled securely and confidentially, in line with professional, ethical, and privacy standards. If I recommend or use an assessment tool, I’m always happy to explain its purpose and answer any questions you may have.

Yes. You’re welcome to book private sessions without a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare rebate, or EAP referral.
